Default MOVING TIME......

time has come for me to pack up and head to lakeland florida to start my life, now i got to pick which way i want to go. i will be towing a 1994 ford ranger on a tow dolly and it will be loaded with all my crap. i got 3 different routes planned, here they are.

straight down 75 to 98 and on to lakeland, quickest but it was stacked full of construction from kentucky to northern florida 3 1/2 months ago when i got my truck and drove back

35 to 64 to 77 to 95 to 4 and on to lakeland, havent been this way in over 3 years, more hills than 75 but almost no construction, i was down in fayetteville NC last fall for a tough truck race, i may take a detour over to Conway SC to see a friend if i go this way, it will take me about 150 miles out of my way but i can take 17 down to charleston and get on 95. i came up this way in mid 2004 in a u-haul van, its amazing a 4.8 chevy powered u-haul will do 90......luckily that virginia state cop didnt catch me LOL....

75 to 65 to 231 to 98 and then on to lakeland, longest route but has the least hills and the drive down 98 along the coast is nice, i came back this way last year from florida.

which way do you guys reccommend???????????????

What part of Slohio are you in? 77 down to 26 and over to 95 would be the most direct route but its awful hilly in Wv and Va. I would either go that way or go down 75, just make sure you do Ga. at night. Plan on hittin Atlanta at about 9 or 10pm and go on down through Ga to avoid the traffic. I hate 75 in Ga. in the daylight, especially on the weekends. Goin 64 to 95 takes you way to the east, but its up to you really, just depends on how far out of the way you want to go.

im in the south central, either way i go it will take about the same time, ive drove 75 about umpteen million friggin times and the drive just bores me anymore, i time it to hit atlanta about 3 am cause there is no traffic and i can blow through it fast, i came through at like 10pm and it was crazy busy on friday night, i wont take 64 to 95 cause its way too far east, i have settled on 35 and cross the river at gallipolis to 64 to 77 to 95 to 4, not as fast as 75 would be normally but there is no construction on 77. i know all about the hills on 77, i ruined a transmission and brakes in the U-Haul van i was driving, i lit a virginia state cops gun up at 90 mph, he sure looked pissed when i waved at him and smiled as i went by, luckily there was about 2 miles of dead solid traffic behind me so i got off at the next exit and hid, kinda hard in a bright orange U-Haul van though....still never got me though....

75 sucks for traffic too, all the way through Georgia. The construction justs makes it worse cause people can't figure out what the "This Lane Ends" signs and the flashin arrows and cones mean. Be careful on the way down Logan. You takin 77 to 26 to 95? Mike Raynor lives right down there by Columbia, S.C. somewheres

i dont really even count 26 in my trip cause its like 70 miles at the most, even though i did forget when i was driving that u-haul cause i kept leaving my buddy behind and it had been forever since i had drove it and had to cut across 301 to get to 26, i covered 120 miles in like 1 1/2 hours, yeah i wasnt letting any grass grow under the tires, i might cut across 76/378 to go see my friend in conway but i dont know yet, it should be a decent drive, im leaving monday evening or tuesday morning real early, too much crap to do and not enough time to do it.

All I have to say is go the oposite way Jason tells you to go... He has gotten me jammed up and lost moretimes than I can count! his directions are useless... why you think he is giving up trucking and going to flight school?!

I'm just kiddin' he gives awesome directions and knows what surprises to expect! I have no clue what road to take but I can say this... Do as they said and stay the hell away from Atlanta till late night! good luck!

ive got alot of highway miles under my belt, i was just wondering about routes cause i hadnt been 2 of the ways in over a year, i can barely remember 65 cause i was just trying to get to ohio, i forgot most of it.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

screw the ranger, im leavin it here and blowing the weeds bobtail to florida right down 75, i dont care about the construction, i dont want to screw with all the mountains on 77, damn ranger fell off the dolley earlier when i drove to the gas station to fuel up, it screwed the rocker panel up pretty good (gonna have to cut it out when i do the driverside cab corner) and im a little pissed.....ill come back up at thanksgiving and get it with my gooseneck.

Logan, let us know when you get to Gator Country. Maybe next time I come to Gainesville to visit we can drink us a beer or two and argue over football, hehehe.
