Be sure to keep your plate of food out of reach, otherwise your gonna be reaching in the fridge for more food.

My dogs know if it's not in their bowl or on floor it's not theirs. So what did your dog chow on?

My sirloin steak.

When I came back, she was laying on the couch, but my steak wasn't laying on the plate. I didn't catch her, so it's kinda hard to punish her.

You know what I would do. I would feed that dog a sirloin steak every meal, eventually she will get tired of the same old thing and leave it alone No need to thank me for the advice this is a freebie

when I was little I would always watch tv and eat at the same time I would leave my plate of food sitting on the floor to go get something and my yellow lab would be sitting there looking at it but NEVER touched it

Haha, yeah. Our current dog, which is a mix between Chihuahua and Dachshund, jumped onto one of the barstool type of chairs then onto the island and ate 1 lb. of boudin! So, now we have to make sure the chairs are tucked in good.
Our black lab took off with a bag a cracklins a few years back. Someone left them in the bed of the truck to go cut some plywood or something and then you see a black lab running with a bag of cracklins.

Our chocolate lab is 5 months old and we've taught her from the beginning she doesn't eat any of our food until we tell her "get it." She picked up very quick and doesn't eat it.
