Sure you can have a car or truck, whatever you want. All you have to do is get off your lazy *** and go EARN IT!!!!!!!!!
This "I'm 16 and am entitled to a car now" thing really P's me off. These lazy kids that expect their parents to give them everything they want, need to go out into the real world and GET A JOB!!! These parents who do it, aren't doing them any favors either. The kids rarely respect the vehicle, because it didn't come from their own sweat equity.
Then when they get a little older they expect the government to take their parents place.
When I turned 16 my dad started charging me rent. I thought I'd show him, so I moved out and got an apartment. Only took 6 months and I was back at home, gladly paying rent to him. LESSON LEARNED!
Stuff costs money. You're old enough to earn your own stuff.
P.S. don't forget about insurance, fuel, and maintenance costs.

I just saw this and I'll tell you what,that comment was uncalled for. He knows good and well that I won't just buy him or give him a car, he was only excited about it being his BD, and turning 16.
He is not one of those give me this or that kids. He doesn't have a cell phone like ALL of his friends, he still plays his games on a PS2 while all of his friends have newer systems. There is no bus here, so he rides his bike 2 1/2 miles one way to school, even when it was snowing and below zero, while his friends get rides from their parents. And you know what, he doesn't complain about ANY of it. Hell, he's always asking me to give him stuff to do to EARN some money.
Just because this world is full of bratty spoiled teens, it doesn't mean mine is, as I said, he was only excited.

I agree, That was very very rude and uncalled for, Not all kids get things handed to them!! I was my daddys only child and I got pretty much anything I asked for, But I wasnt a smart mouth, or ungrateful, I understood how hard my daddy worked for the things he gave me...hell I had a subscription to a magazine, and he'd make me help him do yard work and things like that in order to get my magazine ( which I had paid for).
as far as the comment goes about " go get a job" My daddy wouldn't allow me to have a job in highschool, He wanted me to be a kid as long as possiable, id ask if i could get a job..hed tell me " no, theres plenty of time for you to work when you get older, your not getting a job"
So your statement was really unfair and uncalled for. Just because he doesnt have a job, doesnt mean he gets things handed to him. That hurt my feelings for Mikey!

I may have sounded a little rough in my rant, it really wasn't aimed at you, but at soceity in general.
