Default so the jeeps getting an overhaul this winter

decided the ol trusty 4 banger was getting tired and needed to be replaced and found the deal of a centry..

just bought this from a buddy that was building a buggy and scraped this powertrain and decided to go with a newer/bigger motor.

bought a 88 chevy small block 305 with underdrive pulleys and mild cam. fresh rebuild within 3k miles bored .30 over with forged pistons.. tbi.

96 chevy 700r4 with transgo shift kit and billit torque converter

dana 300 out of a mid 70's ford pick up with a flip kit and twin sticks already on it..

computer to run it all driveshafts that will fit mine, small block converion radiator for jeep. advance adaptor weld on motor mounts. kilby flat skid..
autometer speedo, tach, oil pressure, water temp, ammeter, fuel gauge gauges.

the guy i bought this stuff from has 6,000 into all this stuff

i bought it for 1000.

i can sell my powertrain for 1500. as trans and tc are fresh and the sye and driveshafts are only 2 years old on mine

no more 4 banger..

after i get that done im ordering some new parts for my axles

for my front dana 30 ordering a super 30 kit with 31 spline chrommoly shafts super ujoints and arb air locker

for my rear ihc dana 44 in the rear ordering a super 44 kit with 33 spline chrommoly shafts and arb locker..

also going to rewire all my rocklights/driving/onboard air switches with carling switches (switches arb uses so they will match )

and hopefully in spring bout the time this is done ill be done with school and ill have a good job and be able to buy another ctd and this time a non lemon..

just thought i would share.. ill be doing pix as i go.

prob be january before i even start.. hardcore wheelin season right now.. not tearing my jeep down in the middle of wheelin season....

dana 30 is a pretty stout axle.. i think with the super kit itll do just fine.. stock it can hold up to a 37.. pretty safe to run it witha 42 with super kit.. i think a small block will do just fine.. its only a 305.. its not a lot of power

you run 42's?? wow, i never would of thought that a modded 30 could handle those. that's good to know because someday i'm building me another jeep. this must be a TPI motor out of an f-body i take it? that thing's gonna feel like a whole new rig when it's done!

no im running 37's. i drive mine on the street once in a while....

11" of lift wont clear 42's.... i like my articulation.

yah its out of a 88 camaro.. tbi. its not a big motor but its going to be a drastic improvement over the 4 banger.. and it should produce enough torque to keep my happy.. dont need a lot of horses..

heres mine, just another TJ; with some really wasteful parts added.

P.S. Why are you running 11" of lift for 37's?

Never been to Hot Springs. I'm at Tellico about once a month.
Looks like some good wheeling out there. Is the Granite? I'll have to come out there some time. Nice CJ, I like seeing the classics on the trail.

no to much blood sweat and tears into it.. ive owned it since i was 16.. also has sentimental value.. down payment was my 16 birthday present from my late grandparents... i sold the truck instead.. i have way to much money invested in this thing to get anything near what its worth to me to sell..

yah its actually a 95 with a cj front clip

i havnt made it to tellico yet but i want to..

we have a mix of all kinds of stuff here.. from clay, mud, to granite, slate. etc.. everything.
