I'm sure most of us have read the so called comparison of Lincoln and Kennedy, but did you ever consider the relationship between Obama and Lincoln.


1. Lincoln placed his hand on the Bible for his inauguration. Obama used the same Bible.

2. Lincoln came from Illinois. Obama comes from Illinois.

Actually Lincoln was from Kentucky and Obama was from either Hawaii or Kenya, depending on which story you believe.

3. Lincoln served in the Illinois Legislature. Obama served in the Illinois Legislature.

4. Lincoln had very little experience before becoming President... Obama had very little experience before becoming President.

Lincoln in addition to serving his full term in the legislature also held local offices prior to his presidency. Obama was serving his first term in any elected office when he made his bid for the office, having served only months of the term.

5. Lincoln rode the train from Philadelphia to Washington for his inauguration. Obama rode the train from Philadelphia to Washington for his inauguration..

6. Lincoln was a skinny lawyer. Obama is a skinny lawyer.

7. Lincoln was a Republican. Obama is a skinny lawyer.

Lincoln actually considered himself a member of the Whig party which sort of fell apart in the same year that he ran for the office so the next best choice he had was a party that had just been formed that same year so it had no candidate and was wide open. But yes technically speaking he was listed as a Republican when he took office

8. Lincoln was highly respected. Obama is a skinny lawyer.

Actually at the time he was elected Lincoln was thought of as more of a joke candidate then as a serious politician. It is the general consensus of historians that he won the race because he took the podium and told stories that made people laugh and in the times of turmoil this country was in the crowds responded more to that then they did the Fire and Brimstone speeches that Douglass made. History gave Lincoln the respect he deserved, not the citizens of his time.

9. Lincoln was born in the United States .. Obama is a skinny lawyer.

10. Lincoln was honest, so honest he was called Honest Abe. Obama is a skinny lawyer.

11. Lincoln saved the United States. Obama is a skinny lawyer.
