eh?

a ball of flame, maybe a little pop.

if you can get one to go off with that much force I want some directions! it'll cut the cost of buying boom boom's for the 4th to almost nothing!

I'm still wearin the scars from this one and have another good one on the side of my neck from a weld that popped and sent a piece down my neckline, couldn't get it out before it burned into the hide.

I did read your post, and did a couple searches trying to find it, to post here for him to look at. I think it's always nicer to learn from someone elses mistakes, especially when theyre painful!

one good thing to get is some nozzel gel to dip the tip of the gun in. it will keep slag from sticking to the tip & sticking the wire. i also use 100% argon intead of 75/25 mix. i use it with my tig & i think it is cleaner with the mig also.

Depends on yer pain tolerance. I tend to ignore the stuff and most every pair a britches i own have pin holes in em but I rarely go out to the barn with the plans to do any welding, it just pops up so I'm never exactly dressed for it. Personally I don;t even own any of the jackets or pants but you've seen how my luck goes so I'm not the best guy for advice on it.

when i'm welding on the pipeline i always wear a leather cape jacket. it's just like a full jacket but it stops just under your chest. it's alot better for summer welding. when in the shop doing fab work i usually just wear heavy denim shirt with maybe a pair of leather sleeves. there are all kinds of different types of clothing out there i would say go to your welding store & look at what all they have & go from there.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about pants so much as decent foot wear, gloves, and a good jacket and mask.
