Exclamation Opinions Plz

Well come may i am shipping out to SC till October. So i figure i should get to thinking what kind of truck i want when i get back (only have one month to shop around). I will have approx $20,000 in pocket and am willing to take out a loan. I just cant decide between a ford or a chevy. Right now i am thinking 99-03 7.3L or 01-05 DuramaxLB7 or LLY (not very interested in dodge). The truck will be used for primary transportation and very lil pulling. It will probaly get modded quite heavy too. I would like desent MPG. I would also like a crew cab long box config. non duelly.

Again any opinion will help out. i dont want to regret buying a truck i dont like.

If it's between Ford and Chevy I think I'd go for a newer Duramax. They are really comfortable, ride well, and respond to BOMBS fairly well.

Fair warning...there are a lot of Cummins guys on this board...you might be getting some biased responses...

well if ur insistant on not buying a dodge then i'd say an 04.5 or newer duramax. my .02 is they're easier to work on and seem to have had a less rockier start then the 6.0. not bashing. just MHO.

I'm not familiar with the Dmaxes, but I did have an '01 Powerstroke (7.3L). It was bone stock when I sold him with 60,000 miles (bought new). I didn't have a lick of problems out of him. I really, really liked the truck.

Now, as far as power, I can say hands-down that my CTD would beat my PSD no prob (bone stock).

If you want ride and comfort - I dont think you could go wrong with a Max...durability may be another issue that I cant comment on.
