Default Houston area.

Hey all, anyone in the Houston area chime in on low rent areas, and welding work.
I'm planning on sending daughter,an husband to Houston area, and paying their rent for a year.
I used to live in Pasadena Texas, and it was not to bad on rent in 1983.
Tennessee never had much industrial trades.

THE PROBLEM IS MY DAUGHTERS HUSBAND IS A RECOVERING(sorry caps locked) loratab addict.
His whole family here is either addicts,or drunks. They never work, and will retire on welfare. As soon as he picks himself up they drag him down.
As a former Hippy myself,I got away from California to make a new life.Been clean since 85.
So I'm thinking this is what they need,I'm moving to S.A. in 2012.
Two Tennessee is rotten as far as help for dental, health, and drug addiction problems. How can a man afford $300 a month to quit drugs.Houston is full of free clinics.
Maybe I'm wrong,I want some parents to chime in.

Lower rent areas are Pasadena, Channelview, Deer Park, La Porte, Gallena Park, basically anywhere east of downtown. But these arent always the best parts of town kinda a trade off either cheaper rent and get broke into, or stay further away and less BS.

Theres alot of people here in town outta work though also

GL hope this may help

Channelview would be your best bet. It's cheap and fairly safe, just not the nicest place around, but it is in the heart of all the industrial businesses. He should be able to find something anywhere in a 10 mile radius.

As a matter of fact, I know someone trying to sell a trailerhouse with land for cheap, right there in Channelview. They might consider renting it, but the last renter just left after 9 years and I don't think they want to deal with renters anymore, but I can ask. PM me if you need more info on it.

I always see signs for hiring welders. there were a few a while back right down the street from where I work, but you never know. It's so up and down everywhere, it's hard to say.
