No when the congress limited immigration many moons back, we came together as a nation, since they opened the flood gates were becoming divided again.
The Indians were not one nation but many and that allowed them to be wiped out and we are next.

Hi, Herb. I live in California, which is basically ground-zero for immigration (both legal and illegal). I agree that immigration is too high and will have damaging effects on the environment and job prospects for the Americans already here. However, I'd say that the reason that Americans are becoming divided little groups (AKA "the Balkanization of America") is because of "diversity" policies that emphasize differences rather than any sort of unity and common values - like Constitutional principles of limited government and individual rights - that should go with being an American. The high numbers of immigrants (both legal and illegal) are just making the effects of these policies more noticeable, more quickly.
