Thank God For Dry Cells
Left the house yesterday and the neighbor had the hood up on his 3 vehicles, including his D-max, running battery chargers. Head up the street, seen 5 more. Get to my job orientation, and a pusher comes in with a couple batteries needing warmed up. Back home to do some greasers, one guy was in front of the parts store getting his charging system tested, and another I know that runs a trucking company, he was carrying a battery in the store. :D :D :D :lol88:
I know they're almost twice the price, but dry cells can handle the sub-zero temps way better. Since I installed mine in the summer of 07, I never had an issue yet, even with the past few days of extreme cold. |
Thats the biggest reason I use Optima's, don't freeze.
I put the Optimas in when the truck was new in 01 and they still kickin ass:tu:
My next battery will be a Optima, but I will say I have not have a problem with my heavy duty Interstate battery.
I've run Optimas in 4 different vehicles and never found a better battery. I have em in my Jeep right now and when the batteries in my truck die, I'm replacing em with Optimas.
I changed to optimas last winter and theyve been great. I had nothing but battery troubles before I switched.
I'll be switching back to optimas next month.
my old interstate just doesnt want to give up but when it does i will be buying optima red group 34/78:yeah:
I run a single odyssey battery and have had zero problems since I put it in last January. Not cheap, but it is a steel cased, virgin lead, dry cell battery, weighs about 60 or 80lbs, but can't remember which.
Thats what I originally was going to do...
