I know what happened! We forgot who we are ultimately accountable to - God. We don't want to be responsible for EVERY part of our life. We pass the blame, look for free handouts and complain because we don't have everything we want. But the One we owe everything to is the Creator of this universe and everything in it - God. We are so tiny and insignificant compared to Him.
The politicians shouldn't have any power over us, but we have let them take control anyway. We are distracted by everything that is really not important - money, success, fun. And in the meantime our country has become corrupt to the core and overtaken by political elitists.
We have to get back to the basics and remember what our great country was founded on - a desire for true liberty and independence, self-responsibility, respect and care for your fellow man and finally, a fear and reverence for the God of the universe.
We have lost sight of what really matters in life and how our decisions now will effect eternity.
