they've updated the number of missing this morning. it was thought to be up to 30 missing but now only 8 people are missing!! with a death toll at still only at 5 is pretty good considering what happened.
i travel a slightly larger bridge over the mississippi twice everyday. i find myself kind of giving it the stink eye. guess it's only natural.
according to some info i heard on the radio this morning, it would take $190 BILLION dollars to bring all the deficient bridges in the US back to code. that's just to code. it would take $430 BILLION to replace these bridges as recommended. i understand this country was built on the principles of christianity and we're supposed to help those less fortunate, but let's take care of our needs first. there's no reason we should be that far behind in our transportation needs.
