I am a Cannon fan, they have great cameras! Yep the more megapixels the better the pic when blowed up. There are some real nice easy to use 15mp out now..

Well yes more megapixles lets you blow pics up to 8X10" or larger. But you need the zoom to bring in distant objects without having to get close.

Whit, Mega-megapixels is a marketing gimmick that people have gotten hood-winked on for years now. You won't be able to see the difference between a 5 mp and a 15mp pic. Here's one of many debunking stories on the net. You're better off looking for top quality lenses, like Zeiss. Here's a nudder wun.

Megapixles arent a gimmick if you want to blow pics up - if thats the case, the more MP the better. If you want to take and print 4X6" pics - then a 5 mp camera is all you need.

I dont care what that says, if you want to blow up pics - you have to have more megapixles. Ive blown up many pics (8X10" usually) with a number of different different cameras and different megapixles and the more megapixles you have the better the results are. Of course, opinions may vary.

Of course, skill of the photographer and lighting conditions play a huge part too.
