Okay, so my basement is below ground level, and it has windows that are sunk into the ground with holes dug out next to them that have a vertical drop. A rabbit fell into one of them and now its stuck in there. Its about a 4' drop.
I feel bad letting the little guy die in there, but I'm phobic of (live) wild animals. Do rabbits bite? :humm:

shouldn't just get a good thick pair of leather gloves n pick him up by the scruff of his neck, just below his ears, wear long sleeves cuz he might kick

It will most definitely try to kick, and will probably try to bite if given the chance, but with some gloves you should be safe. I think it would be the right thing to do to set it free. :ok1:

it wont bite if its a baby. its just like a pheasent, goose, or any wild animal that isnt carnivorus. they usually will just freeze in your hands, and if they do try and bite it tickles more than anything. my dog caught a little baby rabbit once. didnt hurt it a bit. just fetched it to me. i tried rasing it and was doing good for several weeks before he died :(

note to self , rabbits dont eat dog food

Ryan, Rabbits do bite. like they said put on a pair of gloves and a coat... grab it by the scruff of the neck and set him down on the ground ...he will run away... i promise :U::pals:

He will definitley try to scratch the hell out of you with his back feet. But if you have some long gloves and pick him up by the scruff of the neck like someone else suggested, you should be fine. Another suggestion is to put a board or something in the hole he can climb out by himself n- I think that would be the best way to get it out.

Trying to capture him sill send it into shock, so be sure it's away from the house when you set it free.
