Microsofts New Operating System

Mac's are not faster, and they don't have better graphics.
You build a Mac, I'll build a PC, and dollar-per-dollar who do you think will benchmark more frames-per-second with Crysis? Or anything DirectX 10? I'll be pwning n00bs while you're still trying to figure out whether it's even possible for your little fruit machine to emulate DirectX 10.
Ever hear of Windows Server 2003? What about Windows Server 2008?
The only reason Mac's appear "faster" is that they have more streamlined interfaces and don't come with as much bloatware. Oh, and "video editing". They're really good at "video editing". Whateva fruit fewl.

but again.. you agreed with my point.. they are faster, i didnt say WHY they were faster, you are the one that pointed out the BLOATWARE that microsoft loads in their OS's..
You make good points as for a high end gaming Machine Bagel.. but most folks arent worried about how much lag their machine will have while playind CS in C.A.L. League.. most people want fast internet surfing.. you surely must agree that with less crap loaded on the machine, and the use of Linux, the MAC is smoother for the average person.

My 850 MHz computer is functional for web-surfing. Any computer over a gigahertz should be more limited by broadband speed than computer speed.
You can remove bloatware from any store-bought XP machine through Add & Remove Programs, MS Config and, if it's really annoying, the system registry. Or if you're building the computer, you just don't put it on in the first place.
On Vista, the bloatware is all built in and you're just screwed.
Windows 7 is supposed to be more along the lines of XP in being transparent enough that you will be able to remove all the stuff.
I'll agree that if you don't want to think about using the computer, don't know anything about computers, and are a grandma who just wants to email pictures to her kids, the Mac would be the way to go.

Oilfield_Mafia: Why pay for MAC OS when like you said it is based of of Linux and Linux is Free?

I'll take you up on this offer, They don't even have to be different computers, take two of the exact same computers from Dell, One with Windows and the other with Linux. The Linux one will benchmark higher then the windows one.

M$ PC's in general have run their course. Running green mad with dollar signs from clammering 3rd party junkware bashing down the door makes me ill. Their think tank is full of mundane non thinkers that just act on impulse and do not think of the long term adverse affects that loading up on software rather than loading up on key user features.
My dad runs Ubuntu and I gotta say being Linux~ish based it WAS stable. His HDD failed before he was able to run it for any long length of time. Problem is is that noone codes anything good that can run in a 'bunted environment.
