Default my boat...

is an 01(?) 21 foot maxum with the 5.0 liter v8... its now spring break, me and my dad take the boat out for a ride to get it warmed up for the week of fun for me and my friends... we get about 1000 feet form the dock, so it starts running rough. we open the hood to find an oily watery mix spewing out of the carb. .. so we shut it offand get towed in. not cool!!!!!!!! my dad thinks we got it winterized but i specifically remember him saying "no, lets not do it this year in case you want to take it out sometime over xmas break of whatnot". so idk. it could be a cracked block (most likely), cracked head, freeze plug, or head gasket. idk... im pissed.... a remanufactured engine would be about 2500, and another 1k at least for install. i think i may just tackle the project over the summer if it is that... if a swap is needed im thinking of dropping in the 5.9 dodge magnum gasser, or the4bt cummins.. i find out on wed what exactly happened.... any input?

I think you'd need some sort of transmission with the 4BT to step up the prop rpm's or put one hell of a bigger prop on it.

im sorry... what?!?!?!?!!?!

**well, it is the block that is cracked... in two places.. we had one mechanic look at it, were getting a second opinion just to make sure we know exactly whats wrong with it.. looking at a new engine/install. im wanting to getit fixed sooner than summer, and my dad's willing to pay for some of it, since its rightfully his boat.. so im happy that were getting it fixed.. hell, i may be able to make some money off the old engine when we tear it out of there...
