Hit and run

Yeah like everyone has said you are lucky that he only hit your mirror..and he better be more than willing to pay for the damages or else that=fines and possible jail..I had some high school kids run into the back of my dads truck one morning and you better believe that i called his parents and dragged his *** back to his dads house.

Yeah Dr.Evil's right, he still has to pay the price.
I managed to rig the mirror up and tape the housing with duct tape, it actually holds pretty well, and I was able to adjust it so that I can still see properly. When I'm driving I can't tell from inside that it's broken, so at least I can drive around without having to shoulder check like a monster.

Well holy ....I just got a quote from the GM dealer...That mirror costs.....ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! that's right, ONE power mirror assembly, costs $1000 CDN...what the hell?! I'm pretty sure I've seen them on ebay for $365.. This guy isn't going to be too happy, and because the damage is over $1000, that means that I now have to get insurance involved...what fun this will be.

What I'm thinking is,
I'm going to show him the quote, then make him an offer- give me a cheque for ~$900, call it even, instead of going through the dealer. That way, I fix it myself, and pocket the rest. I'll come out ahead that way. Sound good?
