ADVICE ON VALENTINE DAY
#31
im sure someone already said this.... but spas are really exspensive....and not to mention...( in my opinion of course) RETARDED specially for V-day... i want to spend time with my husband on V-day...not with some strangers rubbing all over my body... id rather have my husband rubbing all over my body
im not a romantic person... i hate romantic things.. makes me gag... and i really think v-day is retarded to be honest with you... its a made up day ..to force the men in our lives to wast money on crap!.... SHOW US YOU LOVE US EVERYDAY...not on v-day only
my husband usally gets me lilies..they are my FAVORITE flower... i have them all over the yard..but in feb they obviously are not bloomed...therefore the flowers are awsome to me.... and i usally cook him whateever he wants to eat.... and we usally watch a movie.... and then...well....nvm... but you get the idea...
im juss not a romantic person... im more of a sensiable thinker my daddy raised me so... i think more like a guy i guess haha
but w/e you do.. make sure you do it together...i really liked the " take her somewhere she hasnt been in a while" idea....or if ya have the money....take her somewhere she has been wanting to go... but yall havent yet....she will know you are thinking of HER that day...
but yall have a nice Valentines day

Being a woman myself, I know that if you remember its Valentine's Day thats a plus for starters!!! A woman who has everything doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't have her husband, but to me a great Valentine's Day is a day set aside for doing something together.....something you both enjoy! followed up with dinner out so no body has to cook or clean!! Just a day set aside to enjoy each other nothing more and flowers, well you can never go wrong with giving a woman flowers!!!

Well around here we don't have any of those fancy spa places. Instead we just go to the mall and get pedicures, and manicures that's as close as us country folk get to a spa.
But I personally love getting that stuff done I mean hey I'm still getting pampered and it's only like $50 bucks for a gift certificate.
And while she is getting pampered you can go to sears and look at the tools or something.
Then afterword take her home where you conveniently had some friends or family light candles and set the mood for a romantic dinner for just the two of ya. Some nice touches would be rose petals on the floor and table, soft music that she enjoys her favorite flowers, a bottle of wine or what ever her fav. drink is, and of course her favorite food.
If you can put all that together she won't know what to do. Plus she will be so surprised when you take her home because the hole time she thinks all she is getting is a gift certificate. Wallah Happy Valentines Day.
Chad is not all that romantic but if he did that stuff for me I'd be like and most women love romantic gestures and surprises.

yea i agree with miss minded.... MOST women do enjoy romantic things.. and there is absoutly nothing wrong with that.....
but that makes me gag..haha... id like to go with my husband rather than...go out on v-day and be around all these lovey dovey ppl....
romantic to me.. is juss given me flowers... thats romantic haha....
my husband and my friends are really lovey dovey.... lke we go out together and in the movie theater all u hear is kissing and giggling... driving me nuts haha.... or if we are at our house watching a movie with them... thats all they do... needless to say we dont hang out often....
but yea... u know your woman alot better than we do... soif she likes romantic things.. be romantic.....
but id seriously suggest taking her somewhere shes wanted to go ( even if its juss a restrant.. you never wanted to try but she did) is very nice and awsome!

Sadly for Bobby, not only is it Valentine's Day, but it is also my birthday! HA!
You don't have to drop $200 - $400 at a spa. Don't do a gift certificate. That is taking a nice gesture and making her responsible for getting it done. Make her an appointment and take her there. Go for the mani/pedi combo as MM suggested. That is perfect!
Dinner is good, but you clean up if you eat at home. Go to a movie or do something where the two of you spend time together. Hell, drive somewhere and watch the sunset! That's free!
Bobby's best one so far was a few years ago. After working a 12 hour day, I came home to a candle lit dinner with rose petals through out the whole house. We ate, he ran me a bubble bath with candles all over the bathroom and he washed the dishes while I relaxed! It was great!
Another really cute idea is getting a Vermont Teddy Bear delivered. Bobby had one delivered to my office one year! It was so cute and all the other girls I worked with just loved it!
Just a couple of ideas...

Good catch! I never thought of that. I agree with babydoll214 making the appointment and take her there instead of getting her a gift certificate.

so by spending time/the day with her, you mean I should invite her to go to work with me?!
no, no...I won't be working, it's saturday and pops signs the front of my paycheck. I've got a few little things planned just because but my lady's one of 'em that thinks the v-day thing is kind of lame and overrated. so we're just keeping it low key and hangin out for the day. yes, of course I'm getting her flowers, some handmade silver earrings (not expensive...if you happen to have been in thailand...) and her own brick of .40 cal!
btw, on flowers, nothing against flower shops, they do a great job and all. but they're excessively marked up; my favorite place to get flowers is Trader Joes, it's usually kind of a small healthfood/hippyfood store where you're apt to encounter girls that don't shave their pits and 'guys' that drive priuses and wear tighter clothes than my lady...whatever, they have some GOOD flower arrangements.

I have never cooked or had rose petals with candle lights for the wife before, cause I can't even cook a hotdog, and the candle light & rose petals thing well after 21 years my wife knows i'll be a faker if I do that, I been thinking of taking her to MAI KAI, you can google it, it's an HAWAIIAN dinner & show, she had a good time at the lual, when we were in HAWAII last year ????
