I think it is an Owl, Bobcats sound like Babies Crying in the woods, but Owls have a high pitched shriek that comes in regular bursts like that...

We have quite a few Bobcats around here...

 

I'm bettin on pup's, either coyote or dog. They sound muffled cause they're down in the den. Momma musta been runnin your area makin the dogs bark. I suspect you could go out on about any night and hear the same thing. You just noticed it that night cause the dogs were barkin.

 

I have heard it many time when out bow hunting in Perry CO. It is usually dark before the sun rises, I think it is an owl, pretty sure its not a bobcat.

 

Funny you guys bring up owls. My buddy and i were duck hunting in some flooder timber earlier this week and heard an owl that sounded like it had a cold. Poor guy just couldn't get his WHOOOO goin . Sounded like someone was chokin it.


The pup sound is a good possibility. Thats definately no aduly coyote. We have them everywhere round here. In fact i heard em last night.

If you hear a bobcat squall even once you'll know exactly what it is every time you hear it after that. I spent many dark mornings sittin in the woods pissin down a leg cause them things would scream and you swore Sasquatch was movin in for the kill. When it's dark and your sittin in a ground blind listening to things movin around you but can't see nothin it's a down right scary sound.

 

I vote for Bigfoot.
