Default Cooling problems?!?!

Ok this is what's goin on guys. I was driving my truck to work just like I always do and happen to look down at my coolant temp gauge. And it was barely reading above 170 degrees. And may i remind you that the truck has been running for a little over a half an hour. Idk what would cause this. Possibly a half stuck open thermostat or is it the coolant/H2O ratio? Or could it just be the weather that could be causing this? The coldest it's been down here is around 50 deg. I don't think this would have anything to do with it. A lil help would be great. Thanks guys.
Lucas

Ok fixed the problem. But you just cant buy the thermostat you have to buy the hole housing and all. That is messed up.

5.3 GMC. Basically all the small blocks(4.8,5.3,6.0) and maybe the 4.3 v6.

Lucas, about 99% of all of my engine temp issues Ive ever had with SBC's was directly caused and resolved by either a faulty radiator cap and/or thermostat..
