530 To 520 Chain
changed the chain and sprockets on my '05 SV1000, down to a 520 chain and gave it a little gearing, went from 17:40 to 17:43, not that it was slow before but I'm having a relatively difficult time keeping the front end on the ground and the RPM is up hardly any, which was an important factor on the gearing choice as I commute this thing more often than I go to the mtns. I'm getting used to it around town, kinda nice!
from everything I read, the 530 chain will last a little longer(20k instead of 15k) and is a little stronger but is a negligible difference for spirited street and even light track use. I didn't go cheap and get aluminum sprockets, either, got steel...
