Default Throttle Body Velocity Stack

Have any of ya'll ever heard of a "throttle body velocity stack"? I haven't. It's in the throttle body inlet side to help the air flow smoother through the throttle body. It says proven performance and torque increases up 22+ft-lbs. Is this a gimmick or is it for real? A lil advise would be nice. THANKS GUYS!!!

dont buy it. since you have a 5.3 look at some of the bigger motors(5.7,6.0) and see what you have to have to run one of those TB's. but anything after 03 is drive-by-wire.

OIC I thought you owned a Diesel, I see you have a 5.3 chevy. Throttle body spacers are scams.

If your truck had a carb then heck yes a spacer can gain ya up to 25hp, but all yours does is regulate air intake to the maifold. So lengthening the intake does nothing, no air and fuel being mixed at that point and its the same CFM being brought into the intake. Like slow tow said, look into a bigger one with a tuner to adjust for the more air being allowed in.

I'm not sure when they stopped doing this but on my 5.7 throttle body there was a heel to limit low end power. It was on the back side of the throttle body blade. I took mine off and you can feel a little extra giddyup down low.

Take the blade out, drill the two holes, remove the heel, and put pop rivets in the two holes. make sure you fill the holes otherwise the engine will idle above 1000 rpm.

So a new and larger throttle body would be the way to go? like a bbk 80 or 85 mm body?
