You mean you have to be active to buy stuff at the PX/BX? I know several people who are ex-military and still shop at the PX/BX.

 

You have to be active duty, or retired.

So, when you get a medical discharge, you're not "retired?"

 

 

Unless things have changed it is based on the disability rating the military gives you if you are rated at 30% or higher you are retired have full retired benefits if it is less than 30% you are given a severance check no benefits.
