hey gunman sounds like who ever did the work did something wrong when they were putting it back together. is it still smoking??? i rememebr 2 years agowhen i ripped apart my 400ex and put a 440 kit in it. it smoked a little till it got good and broke in and everythign seated in good. so if you have putmore hours into it and it still does it i would be takin it back to whoever did your work. good luck man.

HEY BLACK 06, I rode the 2004 HONDA 450 for a total of 4 hours and it started smoking, now when you cold start it smoke will come out, and you can smell the oil. The TECH is trying to give me some BS about the crank having to much play, and puting to much wear & tear on the piston. But the TECH said he will know when he tears the engine AGAIN ????? I thinking of selling the QUAD smoking AS IS.

Martin, you know my opinion on this subject.. Ive owned just about every brand except CanAm. My Uncle has 3 Can Am 800s and he swears by them. I know people that swear by polaris and kawis and each brand.. its like askin which is better between the big 3 ya know? So instead of just telling you my opinions, I will give u a rundown of time of ownership and things broken on each brand that Ive had expierence with.
Honda:
That about all I can remember bud..
Any way you go you have a 50/50 chance of getting a lemon.. Im sure some people get lemons on arctic cats and yamahas.. its just the luck of the draw i reckon
Honda:
- Electric shifter solenoid got wet (its placed very low on the ATV) and I was unable to shift without having a pair of vice grips.
- Front driveline replaced 6 times
- Low ground clearance
- owned for 8 months
- Popped chain and stripped rear sprocket
- owned for 1 year
- Drive belt replaced due to lack of maintence after crossing deep water
- replaced cv boot due to rock/stick busting it
- owned for 5 years
- 3 engine rebuilds
- 5 rear axle assemblies
- countless chains and front and rear sprockets
- several starters
- carb
- owned for 1 year
- warped head
- overheating issues
- owned for 3 months
