Default Thermal Expansion Of Engine oil
Why is the suby (Boxer Engine) oil level affected by thermal expansion ? it gains about an inch on the oil dip stick when its warm , (Confirmed with the owners manual) , but normal engines are not

maybe because it is a flat four and turn to the side, thats my guess
