And there are some that are in denial that we are in a recession.

My take on it is that people that have jobs that are mainly supported by the government (or direct government jobs) then those people are less likely to feel the real effect of the recession and deny that we are in one.

Maybe a few exceptions... oilfield (in the US) is probably a good place to be employed right now.

But are you feeling the effects of a recession?

I'm noticing it's taking people a lot longer to pay me for service work. I am getting more people that send in $50 a month on a $500 bill. I understand, but it makes it harder for me. I may go back to payment due at time of service call if it gets much worse.

Techniclly we are still growing, slight as the growth is, we are in a slow down not a recession. Gm's problem has been looming for years, it just hit the fan when people shifted on desired product, since fuel is so high.
