Pretty much. That's the scary part about moving south if the opportunity came up - $500+ for a family with reasonable health history etc. where here it is like $160 or so a month and almost everything, and I do mean everything is covered. Sure the system isn't perfect but much better than the alternative.

Im glad i have awsome health ins through work. I may not get paid the big bucks but if you tacked on what my health plan is worth it'd be close to $10k yr

 

My advice is to seek employment where the benefits are excellant and the pay okay versus excellant pay and crappy benefits.
