Default Verizon Air Cards

hey just wonderin how many of you use an air card to connect off a notebook computer? where i live which is best described as the sticks it works pretty well. i don't have cable tv to my house on this road but have dish network and get good cell signal. i was curious if anyone uses the dish network high speed internet and possible uses an air card as well and can compare the difference. i like my air card for being portable and take my computer to work alot. i know some of you might laugh and say logger with a computer wtf? but actually we use them alot anymore.

anyways thanks all for your input! Dewey

I also live "in the sticks" and i have an aircard from sprint. They have the best coverage around here so that's who i went with. For tv i have DirectTv and im very happy with it.

The air card is great!

How fast is it? Can you download say an MP3 or watch streaming videos like on youtube, etc?

They have nearly cut out all internet here at work and I was thinking of just getting an aircard for my laptop and bringing it to work... just curious if its like normal dsl connection internet surfing, or if its somewhere between dialup and dsl speed....

My sprint card is just as fast as DSL if not faster most of the time. It has it's moments of course when im ready throw it out the window. But so did cable

Remember, choose one that the carrier has good/great coverage in your area.

From what I understand about the satellite internet, it can bog down just like dial up at peak traffic times. There is only one satellite in the sky for all of the US to use so it slows down a lot. The company I work for does dial up, DSL and cable and we have several customers switch to satellite to bundle it with their TV and then drop it because it is really expensive and way too slow.

We have a Verizon card for Bobby's work computer and it works great! The only thing I noticed is that it slows down if you are using it in a moving car, but it wasn't too bad.

Cool -I was thinking about getting sprint -- looks like around here where I'd use it most, its their best signal...

what kinda plans do they have/you have? I could only find one online and its limited to 5Gig transfer for $60 a month...
