I use a Verizon air card becauser I don't have access to high speed internet, cable in my area. Pretty pleased with it for about six months now. Oh I use it on my desk top, I don't have a note book.

i have DSL at the house and it is fast. i have a Smart Phone with work and i bought PDA Net for the phone and use it on my laptop when i am traveling and am in airports, on the road and at hotels that don't have internet. it's fast enough to browse when i am on the EVDO network (Alltel Broadband) but not fast enough if i am on the 1X (Alltel Highspeed) but sure beats not having it or paying the airports 8-9 bux to only use their network for a couple of hours per session (could be 3-4 times a month) <----- that adds up very quickly....

I have a cingular/AT&T for work and it is ok. I hear verizon are much better. Uploads and dowloads are dial up speed at best. Otherwise it is ok. If you have the option to get high speed another way at your house, I would do it. I only use the air card when it is my only option.

I've used a verizon air card on a friend's computer, worked fine; it was noticeably faster than the crappy satellite 'high speed' through lightspeed at our shop.
