Trans has been dropped , AND put back up in place, the top edge of the bottom bell housing cover was bent down some, most of the noise is gone now , there is still a small knock that I can hear. I have the oil pan off now, letting it drip for the night , i will check the rods and mains tomorrow just to be sure.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Just shy of 5 hours , not too bad for a transmission R&R, and to drop an oil pan, and i stopped for a quick supper in there somewhere too.

Yup , it will be my daily driver. Pulled the head off tonight after i found a piston skirt in the oil pan though... getting in a little deeper now. Nothing some pistons, rings , and a hone job can't fix. I can do it all in frame too.

I figured out what the noise was- it is that chunk of piston.
