To put that in perspective, the U.S. represents less than 5% of the world's population, but consumes nearly a quarter of its oil production. With around 304 million people calling the stars and stripes their home, the average American consumes roughly 25 barrels of oil per year.

the place i work at their fuel bill last month was over 35 grand.

 

figure a barrel of oil at roughly $100 bucks a barrel times 5 equals $2500 dollars per year then my average monthly fuel bill of $300 times 12 months equals $3600 per year, that $1100 difference must be refining, delivery and profit for the almighty oil company's, I wonder if I can get my oil delivered straight to the house?
