If you travel, and can stand listening to some of the retards that are on there from time to time, a cb will prove invaluable with regards to police (ticket) avoidance, traffic conditions, accidents, backups, weather, directions, etc...plus if you travel alone, it helps keep you awake.

I'd take a cb over a Ham anyday, just because a cb-er is more "road oriented"...

i have some marine VHF's i don't need this many for my boat. so i was thinking of putting one in my truck. from time to time i travil down to Mass. and up north camping.

i didn't know but truckers give other trucks a heads up when a cop is around?
or when somthing is goin on?

so i was thinking about buying a cb.. i didn't know if it was worth buying or not?

If you are using it to talk to someone else with a VHF (like you install one in your vehicle and install one in the other car caravanning with you) in your group, it'll work fine. But don't expect anyone else on the road to have a VHF.

Yes, there is all sorts of trucker chatter on Channel 19 on a cb...and you can ask for directions, bear reports, etc...
