It's not a short box. That's a standard box.
I like the colour. Same as mine.
But.......me thinks the cab corners are rotted out.
If you look at the side profile pic you posted you
can see that the cab is sitting much lower that the box.
See how the body and paint lines don't even come close
to matching up? Common Chevy/GM problem. Keep looking OK?

Isn't 88 the first year of GMC EFI? If it is it wasn't very good. If it is Carbed be prepared to spend serious dollars on fuel. The EFI on those was really sputtery - meaning sometimes they functioned really well and then, usually when it was wet out - like today - it would stop working correctly. Just thought you should know.

Just out of curiosity, why only a 3.9?

That's way more than my 5.9.

if you tune them correctly and add an intercooler and upgraded turbo, 30mpg is pretty easy to achieve .. from reading over on 4btswaps. as soon as I can get the money together I see a 3.9 in my future.

now of course you have to remember that weight, drivetrain and gearing are important here too. Most of the 3.9s in breadtrucks came with the old gm turbo 400 non-overdrive non-lockup transmissions. bolt something like an nv4500 to it and you can do a lot better. There was a suburban on ebay with a 3.9 and a 4l80e trans that was getting 25+ cruising. Good stuff if you ask me.
