Default Unable To Format A Memory Stick

For some odd reason, windows is unable to format my 4 gig memory stick (pro duo). Bough the dang thing off EBAY new. Any help appreciated. TIA!

Had a friend buy a flash drive and it wouldn't format on his or any of my computers he had to take it back

Forgot to say that it worked for 2 months. Then the other day, camera said the card had a format error.

Have you tried formatting it in your camera? There should be that option in your camera menu.

Sounds like it is toast. PNY brands has a big problem with this. If it is to late to take it back try using a real strong magnet. Works on some to scramble the little bit of formatting that is hanging it up so Windows can format it. If that does not work......time for the trash.

With these things it pays to buy from somewhere you can take it back. Keep your receipt.
