I'm One Step Closer To A Good Paying Job (To Me Anyway)
Well guys, im going up to finish the application process/have an interview at our local Cummins Filtration plant. A buddy i know that works there said they start at "if he remembers right" 15.50 an hour and quickly jumps up to 18.80 or 18.90 an hour.
If i get this job, i can just see the money for bombs falling from the sky. Ive never owned a job that paid over 8.00 an hour so starting at 15.50 would be like a godsend to me!
Wish me luck guys, hopefully i can work for the company of the my favorite diesel engine that sits under the hood of my truck!!!!!

If this is more than you have ever made remember to pay yourself first - otherwise it will just get pissed away. I would set up 3 accounts - 1 for daily bills etc., 1 for saving and 1 for bombing... but that's just me.
Well done.
As soon as this becomes reality start thinking about the future - how do you get further at Cummins, is this a stepping stone, what training can I get or need to get to go further - never be complacent and you will always do well.
Also, don't make the mistake of adjusting your habits to suit your new found income until you have at least 3 months saved in the bank. Your economy down there dictates that requirement as a must. I've made that mistake more than a few times but have always been able to recover.

Well guys.......................
I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i found out that it doesn't start at 15.50 an hour, it starts at 10.92 an hour, which is still more than ive ever made. I will be working 3rd shift (11p-7a) and we have a lot of mandatory overtime going on right now which means more $$$. They are averaging 50-60 hrs a week with sometimes working a sixth day for an addl. 8 hrs. On Thursday i have my **** test and "physical" at Cummins in their health dept. and the Thursday after that i have my orientation, which i get paid for. It runs from 8a to 12p. They think i will be starting the Sunday after Orientation.
hank god i found a job and one that relates to my hobby at that!

If this is shift work, is it unionized or non? Regardless, make sure you make yourself marketable to those in the know at the plant and other areas in the company. This is how you move up quickly. You have to be careful not to brown nose because people like me think people like that suck. However, being helpful, reasonable and honest goes a long way.
Remember training pays.
Well done.
PS: pay yourself first...
