Slowed Up Drain

Slowed Up Drain
Dad had a drain that needed a pickle job in the basement. Made sure I opened a couple windows first, then poured a gal. of sulfuric acid down it. Turns out he dumped a gal and a half of bleach down the drain the day before, yeah I was making chlorine gas. Glad I had a couple windows open, a water hose and a bucket near by. Smells like someone got after the place w/ bleach.

The sulfuric acid will cause an increased release of chlorine from the bleach, which is extremely damaging to the lungs. If you start suffering any symptoms get yourself to a doctor. High concentrations of chlorine will cause lung damage, nervous system shut-down, and reduced oxygen to the brain. Leave all the windows open and get a fan down there until the chemical reaction is done.
