Trannys SCARE ME
So heres the story, I was pulling my boat the other day, and stopped on a hill. I went to take off from the stop sign and a ungodly shake shook the whole truck. The whole ordeal has had me worried for a while. The engine and trans. both have just under a quarter million miles and i think it needs to be rebuilt the trans. that is . But in order to do that I need to know about the best way to fix it.If it does need to be rebuilt, I've heard that after market/performance torque converters will maximize fuel economy, and help out with towing and doing other fun stuff. Who should I go to to get the rebuild kit and converter, and will any of this help? I appreciate this a lot every one. Thanks!
Lucas,
These trannys are very prone to failure under load... If you want pictures to scare you , I have them!
What ever you do, dont leave the truck parked on a hill with weight on it... You'll come back and it wont be there!
Sounds like it could be converter, but its hard to say!

I thought air might be getting between the clutches inside the tranny. that was causing it to jump, i know a manual tranny will do that if the clutch is going out in it
The do carry some parts but theres also just a Red alto rebuild kit that can be had pretty cheap with all the upgrades! We also Carry ATI TCI and many of the other brands in summit and jegs!
