Hey guys. Just wanted to share some insightful information that i wish some one would have shared with me before i spent nearly $400 on HID's. Like many of you i like modifying my vehicles. In the past 4 years ive had around 9 trucks and cars. One thing i did to all but 2 of them is installed HID's. Ive also installed HID's on friends and familys cars. Ive always ran DDM kits because for the money they cant be beat plus i lived in the same city as one of their locations which made things convenient. Well 2 years ago i bought a new to me 09 dodge ram. I decided to go with a higher quality hid kit and chose Retro Solutions 55w in my headlights and fog lights. At first they were great and i loved them. However, shortly after one of the bulbs started going out. I brought it to Retro Solutions attention since it had a life time warranty. 9 months pass and countless emails were exchanged with multiple tests they had me run. Finally i had it and sent them a bunch of pics. By this time all 4 of the HID were bad. None of them matched in color and one established a flicker. They finally tell me to make a warranty claim and give me all the necessary information to do so. I submit my claim and they tell me that i void the warranty because I used dielectric grease. The thing is i never EVER used dielectric grease. This was an attempt by them to get out of honoring their warranty. So i tell them that and they send me a bill for $72 to fix the problems... The problem is faulty equipment that should be covered under their warranty. After i tell them that i didnt use dielectric grease they tell me that the problem was caused by faulty electrical equipment with my truck... My truck has less then 60k miles on it and still under warranty... My electrical system is perfectly fine... Just another attempt to get out of honoring their life time warranty. They have now sent me 2 more bills for $14 for god knows what and wont ship me new products or even my old hids back. I now have had to contact the better business bureau which will probably do nothing but im hopeful. They are masters at passing the blame and giving you the run around. They are in violation of the deceptive trade act as well.

I did some research since all this has occurred. I found that this same thing has happened to 7 people on ripoffreport.com and there has been 10 claims filed with the better business bureau. I just want to share my story to warn others so they dont go through what i went through. Some of you may have retrosolutios hids and are happy with them. I can only attest to my personal experience as well as the ones i read on ripoffreport.com. They are crap kits with lies for a warranty and the worst customer service. Do your self a favor and STAY AWAY FROM RETRO SOLUTIONS.
