i thought about ordering me one through AAFES while im setting here in iraq and having it waiting on me when i get back to the states, i love those cars.....i want a white one.....SRT-8.....

 

Yeah, at first. Just like the PT Cruiser. People were paying $36k+ when they first came out because they had to have them. Once demand died down a bit they started selling for the low 20's because people realized they were a dodge neon with a different body. Those people who paid that much for them too ka beating.

Not saying people won't buy them. I just think they are getting overpriced. Some of these cars are getting expensive enough that you might as well step up and a buy a Corvette or something like that. I think Vipers are enough more that Dodge fanatics wouldn't make that jump, but they will think twice. The last year of the Camaro, you could get a loaded Z28 (not SS) for mod 20's. I bete you can't get a new Camaro in 09 for anywhere near that (even when taking inflation in to account)

 

They're optioned so heavily today too compared to yesteryear. I realize a lot is gov mandated but I miss the simple vehicles.

Give me a 6.1 Hemi, 6spd, crank down windows, cloth seats and CD player. No cruise, air, or other frivolous goodies. Hold the ABS, traction control, airbags or any of that other nanny crap. I'm a "driver" and not a "wheel holder".

Ive been prowling around the dealership trying to catch a glimpse, but no luck.

 

I doubt you'll see any on dealer lots for a few months, remember, all the 08's are already sold, and most of the guys that bought them will pick them up the day they get to the dealership. You'll have to wait for the 3rd or 4th batch of 09 cars before you see any sit on a lot for more than a day or 2. Over 10k people tried to order an 08, yet thy only built 6400 of them.

 

And yet auto makers are all loosing money.
