: Score one for the seniors

A stunning senior moment

Apparently, a self-important college freshman attending a recent football game took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen sitting next to him why it was impossible for the older generation to understand his generation.

"You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one", the student said, loud enough for many of those nearby to hear. "The young people of today grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man walking on the moon. Our space probes have visited Mars. We have nuclear energy, ships and electric and hydrogen cars, cell phones , computers with light-speed processing...and more."

After a brief silence, the senior citizen responded as follows:

"You're right, son. We didn't have those things when we were young........so we invented them. Now, you arrogant little ****, what are you doing for the next generation?"

The applause was amazing.......

Sad but true.

The kids of today have the internet, cell phones, text messaging, face book, myspace and instant messaging.

Key word MOST... I'm 20 and I work as hard if not harder than most guys twice my age, I'm the one telling those little ***** to pull their pants up, or I'll pull them down and show their insignificance... I'm the one telling them to get it in gear... I'm the one picking up the slack of the old man boss when he goes home early, and yet, somehow I still get grouped in with generation "Y...Should I do that?"

UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I hate to hear guys bash the younger generations is shows ignorance. Life has only gotten better with time I'm know there was a time when when todays older generation was wasn't thought to hight of by there elders.

Learn to spell all of that and maybe our generation will get more respect! LOL, just playin'.

But seriously, education of our generation is the reason we turned out the way we did, the actions of our parents result in how we act. So if people want to bash a generation, thats fine, but blame their peers. Kids wouldn't be wearing sagging pants if the old man was around to play ball more, or to go out and wet a line with his kids... Most of this falls squarely on the Fathers shoulders, mothers raise kids (and we couldn't get by without them), but fathers are the ones who instill values into their sons and daughters. If your kid is a problem child, better start looking in the mirror for answers.

My old man taught me well, but he also gave me some awful bad habits. My stepfather changed my life and the way I view it, and I hope I'm at least half the father he never had to be to me.

All a joke boys. It was just an e-mail I got that I thought was funny. I don't stereo type anybody. I got a 21 year old kid that I couldn't be more proud of. He's already done more in his years then I have at twice his age. Some times he still does things that I call him a bonehead for but I can safely say he hasn't made near the mistakes in his life that I have in mine.
