I found deal that sounds pretty good

The owner saids that its 1987 with a 5 speed

I know that the 1987 is the year that they started with the blue motor the better motor with a power valve, but i thought they had a 6 speed in them and the earlier 1985 and 1986had a 5 speed in them for sure. My question is in 1987 did they put the blue motor in, so did they match the blue motor with a 5 speed for that year or does the owner don't know what he is talking about? Im going to look at it this weekend but I would like to know a head a time.

The 4wheeler is in decent condition from what I've seen of the pictures he sent.

Pretty sure they went with a 6 speed with the new motor in 87, i had an 87 250 and i also had a 89 250 with a 500 quadzilla in it, wish i still had the 89, awesome quads!

 

yeah that year is not what the owner said. and it turns out thats its not a deal that i would take. not the blue motor, and he wants 1500 and is firm on that the motor to his knowledge as never been rebuilt so i definately doesn't sound like a deal now.

 

Yeah, it might be worth $800-$1000 but thats about it.
