Default Is Jet Good Or Bad For Gas Mileage?

I'm looking at a stage 2 jet pcm for my truck, and I've read some of the reviews at performance center .com and they seem to be fairly decent. I'm really leaning towards it. But i cant decide. I'd just like to know what everyone thinks, if you have time to read this thread https://www.dieselbombers.com/images...s/thumbup1.gif

Lucas, the one thing that you have to remember is that if you spend the money for a programmer like that, you are not going to get anything at all out of it like what you saw with my truck. There is a big difference. The other thing that you need to take into consideration is the miles that truck has on it. Yes it is a very nice truck and runs really good, but will it cause something to go in the motor?
My personal opinion is the same as what it was when I rode in it. Just enjoy it man. You have a nice ride and it isn't worth the money for only 20 - 25 extra horses. This is just my opinion again.

By the way, nice wheels. You've got her lookin good.

I don't think you will find much improvement in mileage with one of those modules. You would prob be better off to find someone with tuning software to write you a tune. You just have to let them know your goals.

Make sure you have a good cold air intake and everything is running right (tune up, o2 sensors). Exhaust can be helpful too, but cat's are the biggest problem here and it is expensive to open these up. Just let the engine breathe.

I know I have read of some guys on LS1tech who did custom tunes for a bit more power and got mileage too. You have to keep your foot out of it though.

Keep in mind that the $$$ you spend on mods to get mileage will take a long time to pay of if at all so don't do it just from a mileage perspective. Do it for the power increase too.

Little things like the tread design and size of your tires can have a bigger impact on mileage. The wider your tires footprint, the more rolling resistance you have. Make sure your tires are aired up too. That will help.

I hear a lot of good things about these guys, they do custom tuning.
