Digital Cameras
I need to buy a new digital camera and dont want to spend much more than $100-$200. We use our cameras alot outside and in bad dusty/muddy/wet environments so I dont want to buy a $400 camera then drop it in the mud. We had a Samsung L73 that was 7.2 mega pixels and like it alot other than while taking a video if you zoomed in or out the sound would cut out. My daughters camera I tried using until we got a new one but hate it, that is aPolaroid a520, you cant even zoom in or out while taking a video and also takes batteries every 30 min (cheap but for a 6 yer old).
Im looking for one that uses a rechargeable battery (NO aa or aaa's), atleast 7 mega pixel, and takes decent video's and photo's.
Does anyone have a camera they love/like that matches any of this? We have tried looking at different stores but ofcourse you dont get details such as: no sound on video while zooming in or out, or if you are even able to zoom in or out during a video

i have a Canaon PowerShot A630.
8.0 megapixel, takes decent video and zoomes. Only bad thing about it is that it does NOT have rechargeable batteries with it, however im pretty sure you can buy a rechargeable battery for it. My batteries 4 AA, last quite a while in the camera though.
page with info on the camera.

now we atleast have a place to start looking. On walmart's website the have owner reviews but some of them are so stupid I dont know if I trust any of them ex: "I wasted my money on this camera, my 3 year old put it in the toilet and it dosent work any more, what a piece of junk" you would be surpised when you saw how many ignorant reviews there were just like that one.

At work I have broken a Nikon L14 and L16 in the last 8 months, the L14 lasted 7 months and the L16 lasted 5 days. I now ordered a OLYMPUS Stylus 790 SW 7.1 MP that is shock, water, and freeze proof. I got mine on E-bay for less than $200 shipped, they are $290ish anywhere else.

A $150 versus a $5,000 Camera
I bought my parents a Cannon A570IS before they went to Hawaii - for a fairly cheap camera - it really takes EXCELLENT pics. I can post up some pics from it if you like.
Heres the review: Canon PowerShot A570 IS Review: 1. Introduction: Digital Photography Review

Its doesnt have a Lithium battery but thats no biggie - just get some AA Rechargeables: DURACELL
