I'm waiting for H.R.D to show up here and post because he spent better than a hour on the phone with me getting taught how to setup Linux and getting software and other things fixed up. So he's smiling the last I knew when I got of the phone with him.

Do you prefer the Debian-based distros? I am personally comfortable with the Red Hat derived flavours. Most things are the same though.

I tried starting out with CentOS but got lost and confused very quickly. Then a friends suggested trying out Ubuntu because its more in line for beginners. Which I found is true. Once you master Ubuntu you can go anywhere for the most apart and not get stumped.

Debian based seem to be a good favor for the moment one day I might create a VirtualBox to test drive others like RedHat...

Do you have any idea if the os from a Mini Maxx tuner is linux based? I was fishing around their site (H& S) and in the downloads sections stumbled across the full download for the memory card that goes with it.

Mint runs flawless. Not a computer guy here so it has to be easy. Dual booted on a 8yr old Dell. Vista on the other side for all those nagging MicroSoft apps that won't play ball with anything but their own kind.

Ran Puppy for a while too. No problems there as well.
