I have a 1988 s10 with a 2.8 that has had a rod bearing failure, crank is trash ,or would have to be reworked, so I am at the least going to put a crank kit in it. I was on ebay and saw a stroker kit that would increase the displacement to 3.1, and I am thinking about going that route, since it is only a couple hundred more than the crank kit ,for a little more giddy up. Here is the part I am not sure about, I have heads, intake, throttle body valve covers , well the whole top of the engine from a 1990 3.1 MPI engine and was wondering how hard it would be to replace the heads up on the stroked 2.8 and make it a MPI engine. This is just a beater truck but since it has to be redone I was thinking about having a little fun with it.

Do you have the Computer for the 3.1? I believe that all the 3.1 was is a stroked 2.8. I'll do a little digging later on.

 

that 3.1 you got a rwd or fwd motor, cause if i can remember, the only parts you can use are the rwd parts.....been a while ill dig around too.....
