The cool thing is, a lot of those twin turbo vipers are they are still running the stock trans, just with a new clutch... Try doing that with one of our trucks!

ahh no,

the viper trans is just a borg warner T56 6 speed. same as a camero/fire bird.
our trans is a NV4500 5 speed or nv5600.

if you was to put a t56 behind a built cummins. it would never last it would be torn apart!

Not quite. That was the problem Hennessey was having with the new venom. The clutches couldn't hold it and the trannies themselves were blowing up. My buddy was in his vette cruising Westheimer (popular racing place here in Houston) and Hennessey pulled up next to him in the first protoype of the Venom. They chatted for a sec at the light and pulled into a parking lot. When my buddy jokingly asked him if he wanted to run (the venom would have smoked his vette) Hennessey told him he would ruin the clutch and grenade the tranny if he got on it much at all. If anyone has the $$$ to blow up a tranny to waste a vette, Hennessey does.

First off, the T56 is a Tremec Transmission, not a Borg-Warner (although they do make parts for them).

We have a Hennessey TT1000 here in town, I know the guy pretty well that runs it down at what used to be Lancaster Raceway (Now its Dunn Tire raceway or something like that). He had all stock transmission internals (only tranny mod besides clutch and flywheel was a short throw shifter) and had made over 60 passes that year on them, the guy could drive.

And yes, it is a T56, but its not even close to the same as an F-Body's T56. Why do you think Camaro and Firebird guys put Viper gears in their F-body's? They have way stronger gears, shafts, and bearings, and slightly different gear ratio's. If you put an F-Body T56 in a stock Viper it wouldn't hold up, Tremec made a lot of changes for the big 8.0L and 8.3L/8.4L.

If he has a hennessey it is not stock internals. That was one of the things hennessey had to work out before he released them for production. Many of the internals are stock, but not all of them.

if this is true, would you suggest some one putting on of these behind a diesel. you can always run a divorced transfer case if it's a 4wd.

any info i ever read about putting a T5,T56, tremec on to a diesel was shot down.

i thought borg warner and tremec was one in the same.
i have had some newer t5's that said both borg warner and tremec on them
