I might be buying my first truck this Tuesday!!!!!!!!
I am heading to Houston this Monday afternoon and spending the night. Going to test drive it Tuesday morning and hopefully drive her 10 hours back to the Lubbock area I currently call home. It is a 1987 ford f350 single cab dually with a Banks SideWinder turbo on it's 6.9 diesel. It also has a nice flatbed on it with a recessed ball. I have the chance to ****** it at 900 bucks, but I will try to go lower because it has a slow oil leak. It does have 2 gauges mounted on the dash though, so it isn't done blind. I want this 2wd manual badly and hope it will be in the driveway soon!!! I want to bring it home, wash it, add a straight pipe, pipe bumper on the front, pioneer stereo ( nothing crazy, just stereo) leveling kit, tint the windows, shifter **** of some kind, and a few more things. What do y'all think??

I wish!!!!! I can only afford so many things. I am getting my permit soon and I am probably going to end up being my dad's personal driver. That wasn't a joke, he really wants me to be driving him pretty much everywhere non work related. I don't mind though. Gives them an excuse to buy me diesel!!!!

Nothing so far, but the truck with the sidewinder sold right after I decided to not take the risk of bringing it up here. I think I will be better off with an extended or crew cab because we will be taking a few road trips with it. I would also like to have a turbo diesel that fits in most drive through s. I also found out the 6.9 in Houston was repainted red from its original white because a patch of paint was missing on the door. I think I am better off with the powerstroke. I was worried driving a truck that was 25 years old 10 hours and being stranded somewhere. I found out that even if I used a free hotel night we had and ate from the dollar menu the whole way and bought the cheapest fuel in Houston, I would have spent about 1,150. Why not spend 50 bucks more and get a truck that is 10 hours closer, 9 years newer, about twice the cab space, and has less tires to replace? I tow at the max about 6.5k which is rare, the rest of the time is about 2k.
