I just hadx my first day at my first job!! Ended bad though.
I went to work for a guy that owns an exotic game ranch just down the road from me at 9 this morning to help load 700 square bales by hand into a collector pulled by a tractor with the owners son helping me at 9am. They said I was a good worker and I did well. At around noon, my boss was nice enough to go get himself, me, and his son some burgers for lunch on the house. I worked till around 1:15 and did fine, but that greasy burger and sun were sure taking a toll around 1 oclock. I started feeling sick and was about to start chumming. When my boss went by me on the tractor, we had loaded atleast 450 bales and were starting to have problems with the collector because someone ran the tractor and baler too fast in that field so the bales were too long and were jamming the collector. He went by me on the tractor and I told him I felt like I was gonna be sick. He told me to go home and cool off despite me telling him I could just pour some water on myself and be fine. He didnt want me gettin worse and he was nice enough to drive me home. on the way back from the field though, I told him to only pay me half what we agreed on because he hired me to do a job that I didnt complete. He said no and to not worry about it and paid me the full amount anyway. I was amazed. He said call tomorrow morning at 9 and I will tell you what all we need help with. I am super excited. I now have job security because someone screwed up bailing the hay. I also got to meet a baby zebra during our break in the barn named Seal.

I hate loading hay... Loaded 500 bales back in the summer on 2 separate trailers then after the 5 hour drive home had to unload again. The worst part is after 100-200 bales the string starts burning places and the hay makes me itch like HELL cause its evwrywhere. U get used to it after a while, but i still hate it

THat kind of work will build muscles you thought you never had. You will end up looking like a big corn-fed farmboy........, but solid as a rock!!!!
I have a friend who's 21 year old son works on oil rigs. I hadnt seen him in a year and a half. I saw him again 2 weeks ago. He shook my hand and gave me a hug. Good Lord I thought my lungs were gonna fly outta my mouth. This kid was SOLID!

The collector was acting up yesterday towards the end of the day and we thought we would have to load them all by hand onto a wagon style cotton trailer. Thankfully, they figured out the problem and we kept throwing them ni the collector. They manged to get them all on there without doing but maybe a couple of square bales by hand. I got back at one oclock and took the hottest shower of my life. He could not pay me at the time but he will come to my house this evening or fist thing tomorrow. When I was working there yesterday, I stuck myself with my right hand bale hook in my right knee cap dead center. Working there was no more fun with my wrist being so sore either. Even typing this hurts. My arms, all of my joints, and shins are sore and pumping more blood than I thought possible. I can actually hear and feel the blood pumping through my body. I am not sure if that is from muscle or fatigue and soreness. I feel like I ran a mile on my knuckles. My fingers are sore from having to grip the bale hooks so tightly to lift.
I like my boss because he actually has some sense and doesnt get mad as long as you arent being stupid. I havent spent a dime of the money I earned and dont plan to until I have 3 grand for buying my first truck.

I started workin on our ranch during the summers when I was 10 picking up 70 pound bales wore the hella outta me and my brother but its a full filling Job, Best thing about working on a Farm Or Ranch is you can eat what you want because your gonna burn it off the next day. Me and my brother generally do most of the farm work, such as seed, plowing, cutting, gathering and stacking. Loading 2000 pounds of seed by hand onto a trailer twice a day and unloading it. Fixing equipment, ah it can be a great life, and keeps you tan all year round... Youll get a hang of everything just work hard, and be willing to learn all the skills he can teach you, it will not be time wasted.

Them are some big ole boys Ive always wondered who would win a brawl the oil rig guys or the farm boys. But speaking of muscles you thought you never had, me and my brother were using our legs to push up tractor on a trailer,(forgot ropes and no winch) and we found out that you can pull the muscles in you @## cheeks proably to much info just brought up a memory !!!

Yeah, working hard is nothing new to me. I am a young teen and I HATE video games. I have been using tools most people havent used before they were old enough to drive at 7 years old. Turns out a thousand pound ft/torgue on one side of a nut and dads hand on a wrench on the other side of the bolt will bust his knuckles open. Also, welding WILL cause a fire in a pasture. I also learned to be a volunteer fireman that day. No new barn though.
