Truckin is a bad business to get into right now. Its slow as **** and fuel is so high. To be on the safe side I'd plan on no more than 6 miles to the gallon. Not sure about those old Macks but most trucks I've driven get about the same fuel mileage loaded or empty and ain't never drove a truck that got better than 6. I wish you luck, but I will tell you as somebody who has been in truckin a long time, it is slow as it can possibly be right now and especially with winter comin its gonna get worse. I would definitely make sure you got somethin lined up. Don't forget to figure in your maintenance/repair/wear & tear cost, especially on an older truck. Parts and labor are very expensive. Good luck to you and make sure you are ready to put in the long hours for low pay before you commit to anything. Trust me, I've been there and done it for to long

The best way to end up with a million dollars truckin is to start with two million.
