Default Howdy !!

Well this is my first post here and i was wondering if some of you could help me out.
i have a dt 466e im workin on for a school project the name of the game is to give it more power.... i want an A in this class so i want to turn some serious numbers. i was thinking(please correct me if im wrong) that i could take the injectors out of a dt 530 e and slam them into 466 because what i gather is, the 530 is just the higher hp model of the 466 same standard heui injection system. would that work? i talked to internatonal up here and they said they would re flash the drive for me since its a school project. another idea i was playing around with was putting a smaller turbo housing on it because i wont really be pulling that much of a load so smaller housing means more pressure right??????
there isnt much more my tiny brain can think of. but i would love suggestions.
thanks
Drew B.

first off welcome to DB

Next thing, not real sure about the injectors, now the turbo thing i would say you are wrong about a smaller turbo housing all you would get there is a quicker spool up the compressor side is what makes your boost pressure anyhow and you need a bigger one to get more pressure in there.

Lets see what some of the other members have to say about this

DT466 = 466 cubic inches Bore and stroke: 4.59" x 4.68" Compression ratio: 16.4:1

DT530 = 530 cubic inches Bore and stroke: 4.59" x 5.35" Compression Ration: 17.2:1

The 530 made more HP because there was more torque available. The 466 made close HP because the higher RPM.

DT466 with the 300HP rating had 800ft-lbs Governed at 2400RPMs
DT530 with the 310HP rating had 950ft-lbs Governed at 2200RPMs

Depending on the age of the DT engine it may have a Bosch P Pump, MW pump, or HEUI. 1984-1992 Used MW pumps. 1993 into early 1995 the P-Pump was available. 1994 the HEUI system became available.

Here are complete specs of the last verstions of these engines available from international:

International : DT 466
International : DT 530

Yep missed the 466e. The e would definitely be a heui then.

Still a 530 is a larger displacement engine than a 466. So I'm sure that it is more than just larger injectors. If that was the case, why make a 530?

does anybody know where i could find the flow ratings for the two injectors because i think that would answer all the questions.
and for the turbo issue......
it has been proven that with a smaller turbo housing you will create more power. because you are packing the same amount of air in a tighter space which turns out more PSI. the only flaw i have found with this is when ur pulling a load, with a load on that small housing creates to much exhaust back pressure wich as we all know limits the preformance of the engine.
